I think it would be really cool if we (the hosters) could enter in a METAR report for a certain airport and then the weather would be set to that metar report for that game. Even cooler would be for FShost to get the METAR automaticly

Here's another thing to add to the request. What kind of client data can you actually pull and display on the server side? I'd like to be able to access various pieces of client data such as total remaining fuel, weather and any other useful bits of information.

Just curious...

Nobody has requested that yet, but I will talk to Russel about it on AIM. Thanks

Yep, I agree.  I hope to have something like that in the future.  You might want to take a look at this thread with more info.  Notice that it continues on a second page as well.

Unfortunately I can only get whatever FS feels like sending me :-)  Actually, I can only get what Microsoft put in the multiplayer protocol for FS, so if there's not a message for it already, I don't have any way of asking for it.  I can't really do any of the cool things you probably have in mind, such as detecting fuel, weather, time/date, etc.  Mostly I can just tell where the plane is and how it's moving, since it sends location data several times per second.  This includes things like pitch, bank, angle, velocity, heading, altitude, etc.
