Weather Changes
« on: June 28, 2011, 09:54:37 AM »

Hi All,

I am running FSHost on a closed network without connection to the internet.  When changing the weather via the options page the weather changes for a 30s and then reverts back to what the flight was loaded with, or FS was started with.

Do I possibly have something setup incorrectly.

Thank you for your assistance

Be sure you have Real weather (automatic loading every 15 mins) unchecked in sim.

How many are connected to the session? does everyone experiencing the same effect? Would be easier if yes, to narrow down the cause of the effect.

For testing it is better to uncheck the resend weather.

Ok what i have found today is that even with the dynamic weather set to none this is still happening.

What I have discovered is that the weather seems to be defaulting to the last weather that was set before FSHost was shut down.

If I do a weather change, then shut FSHost down, then start it again and reconnect everything it takes the weather I had at shutdown.

Once again if I change the weather it takes the new weather for about 30s then changes back to the previous weather.

I dont know what has happened as I have done weather changes in the past that the system has accepted no problem.

No changes havbe been made to the system either.

Thanks for the assistance thus far Homer.

I will check the system but I think there are FSUIPC weather smoothing settings.

I will double check but these have not been changed recently and as I mentioned the system worked fine in April

I have looked at the FSUIPS and have found some items referring to smoothing checked in some of the windows.

I have attached screenshots for you to see.

The only other smoothing is under "miscellaneous": Smooth IAS for external programs

Thanks again

That looks normal to me,

Can you describe the weather changes?
When you set for example "Winterwonderland" in FS-Host and 30 seconds later it stops snowing and temperatures and all going back to default?

The weather changes are never drastic ones.  I might change the wind direction, add cloud and rain.

This will last for a 30s and then the rain and cloud will disappear, and the wind will change back to where it was originally.

I will do some additional tests today with more drastic weather changes ans see what happens

I have done several tests now and making simple changes, as with the two metars below, still has the same effect where the change is accepted for about 30s and then reverts to the previous weather

30015G20KT 7000 –SHRA OVC025 BKN045 SCT070 19/18 Q1019
32010G15KT 9999 SCT035 BKN065 OVC100 20/17 Q1027

As stated previously, the weather defaults to the last weather that was set before FSHost was shut down, but I am not able to make a change to the weather during a session that will stay that way.

That is indeed strange and everyone connected to your server does have the same effect? I still suspecting FSUIPC causing this effect. For test purpose remove the FSUIPC modules temporary to check if the same changes still appear.

Using the weather feature here occasionally, but never had that effect although.

Thanks Homer,

I also suspect that FSUIPC has something to do with this.

I will test it and let you know the result

I removed FSUIPC from the PC I use for the met display and ran FS2004 without it.  I then reinstalled FSUIPC and since I have done this it seems to be behaving itself.

Heres holding thumbs
