Alrighty, Im trying to connect to my VAs server but after 30 seconds i get disconnected then it doesnt reappear in the list of servers. My firewall is allowing inbound and outbound for the program (zone alarm pro) and so that aint the problem... i read that it could be a player on the server that has a firewall that my computer is not allowed to connect to them... can some one help

Hi,
Can you tell us more about your setup? Are you using a router, or are you on a network of some kind? How do you connect to the internet? Also, have you tried turning off ZA completely?
Thanks,
Russell

Hi Colourneon,
When FSHostSpy first starts up, it should say this in the lower left corner:
"Retrieving server list from Master Server..."
If it's timing out on this step, you might go to Tools / Options and make sure the Master Server is set correctly. It should be:
http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/cgi-bin/fshost_master.cgi
You might also try just going to that URL in a browser, to see if you can connect. You should get back a list of IP addresses. When you connect in a browser, add a question mark to the end of the URL to make it work properly. So just click on this link:
http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/cgi-bin/fshost_master.cgi?

Thanks a lot Russel but i checked the address and it was the right one. and so there is still a problem
would it have any affect that i am using AOL dial-up connection? I have played online before with no problems (MSN zone).
Also i clicked on your linked and it came up with some IP addresses. what i did try was to copy and paste the IP addresses into the FS2004 multiplayer IP addres box put when i click serch nothing happens(even if some one has given me their IP address it still don't work)
Thanks for your help
Colourneon!!

Definitely sounds like a network problem of some kind. Maybe AOL is affecting it somehow, or maybe you have some other networking issue going on. Hard to say. You might try dialing up to a different ISP to see if that changes things.

Hey, i found out the problem.
I figured out that on my mums screenname(KJDolsen) it worked fine and that it is my parental controls >:( i hate them!!
Sometimes i use my mums name when she lets me and i can connect then and it works fine.
Thanks for all your help Russell ;)
