Some can Some can't connect

I recently setup a server for the VA I belong to and upon testing with mulitiple-players the other night I find at least 2 people that can't even see our server, now I'm on a cable connection and there is NO firewall hard or soft on this server.. I'm narrowing it down but the common denomonator seems to be those with Cable/DSL can connect those on (shutter) diallup, no luck..any ideas ?

oh I'm running the server on 98se as well, I know not the most stable OS but its been up three days..LOL

Hi Nortie,

It sounds like the typical problem with ports and networking.  This type of problem is almost always either because of port problems on your machine, or on one of the players' machines.  You might take a look at this post, which is similar to what you're reporting, and has info about ports, etc.:
