I have 2 computers running on a wireless router.  I have forwarded the correct ports to 192.168.1.105 which is the Host computer.  I can't connect to my own session.  Does anyone know why.  I do see it in the multiplayer.  It just times out and says not all players can connect.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks

Dave :)

Hi Dave,

Using two computers behind a router is always a problem, because you can only forward the ports from the router to one of the machines -- but both machines need the data coming in from other players on the internet.  So if you forward everything to the host machine, then the other one will have trouble connecting because it's not getting the data it needs from the other players.

I don't know of a good solution to this problem, other than to run both FS2004 and FSHost on the same machine, and then forward all the ports to that one machine.  If you do that, be sure to check this FAQ entry:
