hmmm...now im off to see if i can get that time thing to work...i have a working idea...if thiers a way to get fsuipc or some dll file that can talk to external programs...if their is and we can get it to talk to the time server (not sure of exact address) for what ever time zone you are in (like fsx does in the free flight mode if you have the approate option ticked) we might be able to get the fs host to keep the time synced with both fs2004 and fsx at the same time...

did we ever update the FS games supported ... ie 02 / 04 / FSX?

your reffering to the server/client for fshost or are you reffering to somthing else like a va site or somthin? cus as far as i can tell fs host supports fsx already

Hi there,

I assume you're asking about the public web page, where it lists which games are supported by the server.  Good question.  Well, any FSHost that supports FS2004 also supports FSX, because FSX connects in a way that's almost identical to the way FS2004 connects.

What needs to be done is just to modify "RemoteAccessPublic.html" in the main FSHost directory and change this section:

^^BEGIN_IF(session_guid_2004,!=,00000000-0000-0000-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00)^^
FS2004
^^END_IF^^

to this:

^^BEGIN_IF(session_guid_2004,!=,00000000-0000-0000-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00)^^
FS2004 & FSX
^^END_IF^^

That'll make it always say "FS2004 & FSX" whenever FS2004 is supported.

Another thing I've been considering doing is to add a feature in FSHost to block FS2004 or FSX users separately.  Right now if you run an FS2004 session, both types of players can connect.  I'll see what I can do about that in the next version -- and I'll also provide a modified HTML page for those that don't feel comfortable editing their own files.

Thanks for reporting it,
Russell

Easy enough fix in the markup. I didn't know if you were searching a new unique identifier for FSClient or not but now that I think about it why would you since we aren't disallowing FSX or FS2004 as you mentioned you might make available. I was just curious if people were looking at that and wondering if FSX could be used even though it's implied in our minds. I'll sleep better tonight, thanks. :) {{chuckles}}

Hope you hade a great Holiday Season RG ... and that lonestar state is still treating you well.

:)
